The Spanish Photovoltaic Union (UNEF) is once again organizing the Solar Forum in Madrid, the premier photovoltaic event in Spain. Under the theme ‘Photovoltaic Energy: A Driver of Industrialization’, the 11th edition of the Forum will feature an opening address by the Third Vice President of the Government and Minister for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO), Teresa Ribera. Ribera recently presented the 2030 Energy Plan before heading to the European Commission as Executive VP for Clean, Fair, and Competitive Transition.
Throughout the two-day event the most pressing topics in the sector will be discussed as well as themes relevant to islands’ self-sufficiency and sustainability, including the new PNIEC goals, the profitability of installations, the development of storage, the expansion of energy communities, the growth of self-consumption, and social acceptance.
The Solar Forum will include more than twenty debate panels and presentations where the most influential professionals and public decision-makers in renewable energy and experts in sustainability, regulation, and project financing will discuss the present and future of the sector, which represents one of the key renewable solutions for islands.
The event will feature participation from key representatives of major national institutions relevant to the sector, such as Rebeca Torró, Secretary of State for Industry from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism; Carlos Redondo, Deputy Director General of Electric Energy at MITECO; Eva María Blanco, Deputy Director of Environmental Evaluation at MITECO; and Beatriz Corredor and María Concepción Sánchez, President and General Director of Operations of REDEIA, respectively.
Regional governments will also play a prominent role, with participation from figures such as Mercedes Gómez, Minister for Sustainable Development of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, and Manuel Larrasa, Secretary General of Energy for the Junta de Andalucía.
The international market will also be analyzed, featuring prominent figures like Marcelo Álvarez, President of the Solar Committee of the Argentine Chamber of Renewable Energies, and Izumi Kaizuka, Task 1 Deputy Manager from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization.
The Solar Forum will begin on Wednesday, October 9th, at 9:00 AM in the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium of the Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hotel (entrance via the Conference Center on Ingeniero Torres Quevedo Street).
