Engaging islands in international projects
Through global projects and initiatives, Greening the Islands enables islands to tackle their unique challenges, including waste management, energy isolation, water scarcity, and overtourism, while also generating social, economic, and environmental benefits and promoting scalable effects on island communities. These replicable projects combine the proven outcomes and methodologies of piloted projects and pushing new island settings can implement context specific, scalable solutions that build on validated EU frameworks for sustainable outcomes.
