Project description of activities and specific interventions
#Savetheblu focuses on protecting marine mammals by promoting responsible whale watching, addressing irregularities, and encouraging sustainable tourism. Activities include monitoring operators for compliance, reporting violations, and collaborating with authorities to strengthen regulations. The movement conducts awareness campaigns, workshops, and school programmes to educate youth and communities on respectful marine practices. It actively monitors social media to counter misleading promotions and advocate for ethical communication. Additionally, #Savetheblu leads rescue operations for stranded marine mammals, coordinating rapid response with authorities and volunteers. Through these interventions, it aims to safeguard marine life and position Mauritius as a model for sustainable ocean stewardship.
