Coordinator of the Greening the Islands Observatory since 2020, Francesco has dedicated his career to supporting the transition to a more sustainable and just society. He has been a field researcher and data analyst for the performance of agricultural cooperatives and the microeconomic profiling of rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.


Drawing on extensive research experience in the areas of socio-economic development, inequalities, and energy poverty, he has then moved towards the international renewable energy and circular economy sectors, maintaining a focus on sustainability and inclusion. Exposure in such sectors included cooperation on policy and communication with the Global Solar Council, the Global Alliance for Sustainable Energy, and the Global Renewables Alliance; as well as active participation in three UNFCCC COPs; proposal, content development, and management of several international grants and programs focused on renewables and islands’ resilience.


Francesco has also gained international editorial experience collaborating with different publications focused on sustainability and energy. He holds a MSc in Financial Economics from LUISS University of Rome, Italy, and a Master in Energy Management from La Sapienza University of Rome, Italy
